Children under 5 Travel for Free

From this Friday, 1st December, all children under the age of 5 will be able to travel for free on all publicly-funded services. These services include Bus Éireann (including Expressway), Luas, Irish Rail and Dublin Bus*.

The cost of travel for young families can be high. The National Transport Authority is conscious of this and in an effort to make things easier for families, the NTA is now providing another year of free travel to young children by increasing the age limit to 5.

Don’t worry if you have already bought a Child Card 4-15 for a 4 year old. You don’t have to get a refund, this will still be valid for use once your child reaches 5 years old.

*Please note that Airlink and Hop-On, Hop-Off sightseeing tours are not included.
