TFI Leap Card is up to 30% cheaper than cash single fares. You can travel on Bus Éireann services in Athlone, for as little as €1.50 with a TFI Adult Leap Card or €0.75 with a TFI Young Adult, Student or Child Leap Card. For more details on fares and tickets, check out our fares below.
It can be used on town, commuter & rural services operated by Bus Éireann in Athlone. There is no Leap discount for single fares purchased on Bus Éireann Expressway services but TFI Leap Card may be used as a convenient method of payment. It can also be used on TFI Local Link.
You can download the Leap Top-up App to top up directly from your phone. TFI Leap Cards can also be topped up at Leap agents around the county.
Please note: Children aged 0-4 inclusive travel free on TFI services. Children aged 5 to 8 can now travel free on Transport for Ireland (TFI) services with a Child (5-8) TFI Leap Card.
